If you haven’t seen the giant poster featuring one of the many faces of Cindy Sherman on the front of the Dallas Museum of Art or you’ve somehow missed the many ads plastered all over town, then learn about this gem that is visiting Dallas now, people! The DMA is featuring an exhibit by renowned photographer Cindy Sherman.
Most photographers hide behind the camera; Sherman faces it countless times, as each of her works is a kind of self-portrait. Over the years she has donned a wide range of personas and disguises, bringing us works that are reflective of modern culture.
We are so taken with the Sherman exhibit. She is a master at transforming herself into everything from a circus clown to a stereotypical 1960s female role in a European art-house film to a clergyman from an old masterwork. The exhibit was teeming with stories; each piece possesses and inspires them.
